Sumner high school students are used to Friday night lights but this week, it’ll be Thursday night lights. This Thursday October 4th, Sumner (3-2) will go against Camas high school (3-2). Losing to Rogers last week may be looked at as a negative circumstance but the Sumner football team is simply using it as motivation. Players to watch in this weeks game include Junior running back Bryan Falk with the leading rushing yards with 250 yards and 83.3 rushing yards per game, more than two times higher than the National average. On the defensive side of things, Donovan clark stands out with 8 solo tackles and a key part of Keith Ross’ Black Flag defense. Sumner was picked to have a better chance of winning the Washington Class 4A football title than Camas. Winning the state title has not happened to the Sumner high school football team since 1977 but it has been on everyone’s mind since. And winning this week will put Sumner just one step closer. Sumner and Camas will face off at Sunset Stadium at 7:00.
