Seniors! You’re in the final home stretch! Here is your timeline for the next two months:
April 20 Cap and gown delivery from Jostens during lunches.
May 8 Senior speech applications available in the main office.
May 11-12 Late arrival due to 10th grade ELA testing. School starts at 10:35 am.
May 17 Box seats become available. This is a first come, first serve process. Please see enclosed flyer for more details.
May 22 Senior Speech Applications due to Mrs. Peters, room 27B at 2:30 pm.
May 22-June 2 Seniors sign up for graduation seating with their seating partner in the Main Office. This is optional. Students who do not sign up will be assigned a seat.
May 29-30 No School, Memorial Day Weekend (including teacher work day).
May 31-June 9 Students may purchase Senior Breakfast tickets from the bookkeeper – $10 each. Everyone attending the breakfast, including SHS seniors, will need to purchase a ticket. Bookkeeper office hours are 7:00 am-3:00 pm. Tickets are first come, first serve basis. (They have been known to sell out). Following the breakfast, the senior video will begin at 8:30am and does not require a ticket.
May 31-June 9 Seniors sign up in the Main Office for transportation to the graduation ceremony. Students who do not sign up
will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the White River Amphitheatre. The buses will not be returning to Sumner High School; students are responsible for their own ride home. (All students are required to ride the bus for graduation practice).
June 1 Senior speech tryouts (based on application).
June 2 All make-up credit verifications and online classes needed for graduation must be submitted to the Sumner High School Guidance office.
June 3 Prom – Space Needle 8pm -11pm. All fines and fees must be paid before buying tickets. Tickets are $65 with ASB, $70 without ASB. Space is limited – please buy tickets early. Tickets will go on sale May 15th. Guest forms will be available in the main office.
June 5 Graduation ticket distribution begins at lunch. Eight (8) free tickets will be given to each student meeting graduation requirements. After June 7, the tickets will be available to sign for in the main office. Students must sign for tickets.
June 6 Math End of Course Exams. Regular school day. Seniors needing to take this assessment will be notified in April 2017.
June 7 Senior Yearbook distribution during lunches. All senior students without fines or fees are able to pick up their yearbooks on this date.
June 8 Late arrival due to Biology End of Course Exams. School starts at 10:35 am. Seniors needing to take this assessment will be notified in April 2016.
June 8 Senior Awards Night, Performing Arts Center 7:00 pm.
June 8 Students may purchase additional graduation tickets from the bookkeeper – $6 each. Office hours are 7:00 am-3:00 pm. A ticket is required for each guest (children under ten accompanied by an adult do not need a ticket.) Graduation tickets will be sold until 3:00 pm on June 16. No tickets will be sold at the amphitheater.
June 11 Baccalaureate, Sumner High School Performing Arts Center, 2:00 pm.
June 12 Senior Finals: Math, English, Leadership, Fine Arts, PE/Health
June 13 Senior Finals: Science, History, World Language, CTE, Applied Tech
June 15 Senior Award Assembly schedule. Seniors will check out at the end of each class on this date. Please note: Students will not receive a Sumner High School diploma until they have been cleared by each of their teachers and turned their check out card in to the Main Office (all fines must be cleared and textbooks turned in).
June 16 Senior Class Breakfast, Calvary Community Church, 7:30am -9:00am. Tickets must be purchased in advance from the bookkeeper’s office May 31 through June 9. No tickets will be sold at the door as we must pre-order the amount of food. Senior Video will follow the breakfast and starts at 8:30 am. No ticket is required to watch the video.
June 16 Graduation Practice: Seniors will load buses at 9:30am and travel to White River Amphitheatre for graduation practice. Attendance is mandatory. Students who do not attend this practice will not be able to take part in the graduation ceremonies on Friday, June 16. Buses will return seniors back to Sumner High School at approximately 1:00 pm. Seniors who have last minute check out procedures to complete should do so following practice.
June 16 Graduation: White River Amphitheatre, 7:00 pm. Seniors who signed up during May 31 – June 9 in the Main Office for Graduation transportation, will meet in the SHS gym at 5:00 pm. and be bused to the White River Amphitheatre. They need to bring their cap and gown with them but no personal items as there is no storage available. Seniors providing their own transportation need to arrive at the White River Amphitheatre no later than 6:00 pm.
June 22-30 Diplomas will be available in the Main Office. Office hours are 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Students must be present to pick up their diploma. After June 30, diplomas will then be available at the District Office beginning July 6.
