On Sept. 24, Sumner’s boys Golf defeated Clover Park by a score of 62-10. The win has continued their winning streak, leaving them 7-0.

“We definitely want to stay this way,” sophomore Connor Smith said.

Sumner’s girls team won as well at their match against Clover Park. Winning by a score of 49-0, the Spartans have improved their record to 3-2.

The girls medalist of the match, Samantha Walsh was proud of her teammates. “The team played awesome through the rain…maybe it should rain all the time,” Walsh said.

Spartan Golf head coach Jay Johnston was pleased with the outcome of both the guys and girls. “Our team goal is to win league,” Coach Johnston said.

On Sept. 27, Sumner has a match against White River High School.

“Our toughest competition is White River,” Coach Johnston said.

Earlier in the season, the boys team pulled out a win over White River with a score 55-48.

The girls team at Sumner is looking to beat White River this time around after a close loss earlier this season of 42-47. Both the male and female golf team at Sumner look forward to Friday’s game.
